Tips on preventing loss/misplacement of hearing devices & accessories:

* Option: use a 'tile-tracker' on certain Hearing Aid ("HA") Cochlear Implant ("CI") carrying cases and accessories.

*Invest in power-pack extenders (same as portable phone chargers) on rechargeable HA and CI batteries, especially for use during a power outage.

*Consider a water-resistant/waterproof hearing device and case.

*Honorable mention, accessories available for hearing better in noisy spaces: such as remote microphones (Phonak Roger Pen; Roger Select) when compatible to HA / CI manufacturer.

~ Q&A: via Ann Marie Olson, Sc.D., CCC-A ~

1. How do you prevent losing/misplacing hearing aids and accessories?

Ann Marie response: Suggestion, avoid putting hearing device(s) in a tissue or just in your pocket.  HA's should always be in your ears or their case.  Have a container or pouch to keep all of your technologies together.  You can put a "tile-tracker" on certain accessories or containers.

2. How do you charge rechargeable hearing aids during a power outage?

Ann Marie response: Some manufacturers have power pack extenders, otherwise you can use a "power bank".

3. What accessories are available to hearing better in a restaurant?

Ann Marie response: Remote microphones, Phonak Roger Pen or Roger Select (can work with other manufacturers), or you can possibly adjust aids/microphones using an app.
